I found this quote and scripture in my desktop calendar at work and wanted to share it with you. Ryan has been a BIG challenge lately!! He is so sweet and loving but is also extremely stubborn and pushes all of our buttons. I read this page this morning and it struck a cord with me.
“Children are not puppets. They are wonderfully complex and that’s what makes raising them so rewarding and challenging.” Dr. James Dobson
“I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful.” Psalm 139:14
Being a parent is the most amazing, wonderful, scary, challening, fulfilling job I have ever been blessed to participate in!
When I see a strong-willed little kid, I always think, “God is going to use that kid to lead people someday.”
And then I think, “Put that kid in time-out.”

I am feeling your post today! My Ava is a very strong willed stubborn type also. I guess she got it from somewhere;)
God did wonderfully make each one of us, but sometimes it is hard to see wonderful in a pouty, screaming, crying, stubborn toddler!!
With God’s help we are molding them but sometimes I feel that He is using them to mold us even more:)

Isn’t it cool when God speaks to you in littleways like through a desktop calendar?
I didn’t get to talk to you after church Sunday night. Iknow it’s hard to discipline a kid — especially when your frustrated and it seems that nothing you’re doing is working anyway, especially during church, especially when you’re in a big group of friends, espcially when it’s at your house and you are the host, especially when everyone can hear, especially when you’re tired and don’t feel good. You guys are doing great. Hang in there!
